Composer & master musician‚ Kazem Davoudian‚ was born in 1955 in Iran. His interest in Persian Inspirational Music motivated him to begin studying santoor in his teen years. He continued his studies as a music major at the University of Tehran and mastered playing several traditional instruments in addition to santoor. His superb performing technique‚ his passion for and knowledge of music soon paved his way into performing with renowned musicians and touring internationally. Davoudian began composing and writing music at an early stage‚ he says: “… to me creating music and composing has always been a spiritual need and is what I yearn for…”. Davoudian has been living in Northern Virginia since mid nineties. He teaches and continues to write music! He believes teaching music is a two way learning experience and allowing himself to learn from his students enables him to grow and develop‚ “… my students often take me on paths that are hidden from me and I am grateful to them for that…”.
